Just as described

Thank you. This book came in very good condition. Arrived on time. I home school my son and it's very often I will order books that say they are a certain date of copywriter and they arent. Which means my teachers edition isn't the same wording as my students edition. It would be worthless. But this was just as described. For all the homeschool mom's out there that make thier own curriculum, check the copywrite dates!! I would reccomend this company thank you.

If you like figuring things out on your own, this book is for you!

I purchased this book to assist my son in his Geometry class. It was the book chosen by the school district. It was the second Holt Math textbook they have used. Last year they used the Holt Algebra textbook, which I thought was very good. My opinion on this one is very different. All that follows is IMHO. I was very frustrated with it and frequently ended up (figuratively) tearing out my hair and (non-figuratively) cursing. IMHO, here is why. The book makes you figure everything out on your own. Most math textbooks start with the general formulas/theorems/postulates etc., illustrate with examples, present information in summarized fashion and then present exercises. This book starts with examples and then asks you to figure out the formulas/theorems/postulates. Unfortunately, if you haven't had Geometry in 40 years and are trying to help a kid who has never had it, this is not only difficult but extremely frustrating. Not only that, but the book does not have an (IMHO) effective summary of all of the theorems/postulates/formulas that you can refer to. So frequently, I had to go on the Internet to find other references and 'cheat-sheets' to help. I'll bet that in some Education College somewhere there is a theory that letting students figure things out is an excellent learning approach and maybe in some perfect world, with perfect kids, with perfect class sizes (not 42 students as in my son's Geometry class) this works. However, in our situation it didn't and trying to use this textbook to help my son was a huge exercise in frustration.
